Starting Februari 2014 students from the department of Building Sciences (Albeda College) and Human Technology (Zadkine) will once a week receive a course in practice in the RET-building. This will include close collaboration between teachers from both Albeda and Zadkine, the architect, the user and various market parties, such as the carpenter-factory ITS and installation company Cofely.
The MBO-students will join in the transformation of the former RET bus depot. The students from the Albeda College will develop a series of technical concepts for the office building and the students from Zadkine will be interviewing current and potential tenants about their user preferences and demands. This in order to, beforehand, line up the technical planning with the needs of the users as well as possible.
On the one hand the goal of these educational programs, internships and study-work courses is to realize the remodeling of the RET-bus depot. On the other hand the goal is to enable the students to develop experience in the field. Cofely has already hired an intern from the MBO Electro Technology, Remco Kleijwegt, that will finish his education by using the RET-building as his case. The coming year Remco will be present at Fieldacademy for three days a week.
